I had this problem just today, oddly enough. I think it might have something to do with GS3 quick-editor. I used it to adjust EQ. But the whole computer crashed (twice) after saving the new file. The BSOD message tells me that the ew.sys file is causing the problem. I've no idea what that means.
The gsf file saves properly when I don't adjust quick-editor's EQ. I'm still investigating. Any ideas?
I have exactly the same problem . I can save GSI files if I don't touch the quick-editor's EQ . If I make some edits, the save crashes. I also got the message : " The problem seems to be caused by the following file : ew.sys" and "PAGE-FAULT-IN-NONPAGED-AREA" . If you find out how to fix this problem , please let me know. Thank you
My System : P4 ,2.66 GHz, 1Gb Ram,Sonar4, M-Audio 2496 . 2 Seagate external HDs (one for Samples, one for GSI files)
convert them? how?... So it crashes if you load an GS 2.5 gig file?
I am guessing that the actual bug is that GigaStudio isn't detecting that you're adding 3.0 features to 2.x filespecs. Probably it should present an error message telling you that you've added a 3.0 feature and you need to hit "OK" to convert to 3.0, or cancel if you don't want to do that.
You can convert a GIG file to 3.0 format by right-clicking it in the QuickSound database. There is a menu item which will convert the file.
