    Piano Etude No. 2

I wrote this piano solo for Jess’ composing seminar. I’m sure this is going to change quite a bit as the seminar continues, but I was curious on people’s reactions. Since it was hidden so deep on the thread I decided to put it here for comment.

BTW - This is a lot more tonal than the wind quartet I recently posted

    Hi Trent,

I liked this - are you playing this live?

I love the middle section when you have the little interplay between hands - nice nice.

What part of the seminar will this be illustrating?

Hi Jerry. This was done in Overture. My piano skills aren’t the greatest – I can play through this but it doesn’t sound pretty.

This was for the second part of Jess’ seminar, writing something in an AABB format. Of course I purposefully hid the repeat sign, particularly in the B section. I based it, very roughly, on the little theme he gave for the first assignment, the clarinet solo.

I’m glad you liked it. Thanks for listening and for posting.
