White Grand Jr. questions (First post!!)

    Hi All,
First post here but I've run through a ton of stuff in the archives.
I'm on the verge of making the plunge into using sampled pianos (as opposed to a dedicated digital piano) in my live rig. I play mostly roots/rock when I play out. I am also often restricted to playing in mono in rock clubs. From what I read, and from the demos, it seems that White Grand would be a good first purchase.
As I am not yet convinced that a sampled piano will FEEL as good, or connected to my fingers as a hardware piano, I think I will buy White Grand Jr.
today, and play around with it and see how it feels.
    My main questions:
Anyone know if one can upgrade from the Jr. to the full White Grand?
Any first hand impressions of the Jr. vs. the full version?

    Other questions:
I've read every thread with the word "mono" in it, but any other suggestions, however redundant would be welcome.
    How is Ivory in mono?

Thanks all, and I'd like to say that this forum has been EXTREMELY informative.

    Hi Phil.

    I can answer this one!
Even if the WG Jr is based on a subset from the full White Grand, the samples has been shortened and looped, so tey are, in fact, other samples.
Today there's no upgrade path between the two products.

Worra, on a somewhat related note -- any plans to provide close perspective of the downloadable "Steiny D"?

Isn´t this a great developer? And after all it´s a dog

Seriously: I´m playing with Steiny D and The White Grand jr. They are fabulous in terms of live playability and sound. The main reason to get these libraries is that they are 100% laptop friendly whereas the original libraries still sound a bit better but put a harder demand on your hd and cpu. Thanks for the excellent work Worra.

BTW: Try the downloadable harmonium. If you ever fancied "Hymn to her" on the Pretender´s live album, then this the sound you nedd

Well, sampling is not all I can do. I can also fetch sticks, play dead and bark!
    I'm also totally housebroken!!!
Anyway, glad you like the pianos!

But, can you record a solo piano CD with them and get away with it?
