Yeah...and a total of only seven votes so far. Maybe next time we should do a poll instead of voting "in the clear" (I think a poll was what Sean originally suggested).Originally Posted by Richard N.

Jim Jarnagin - no not THAT Jim Jarnagin, the other one.
I'm going to be out of town until May 3rd, so I'll go ahead and cast my vote. This was a hard choice, but after a week of listening, I will vote for #1. I like the choice of colors and the way the work seems to quietly evolve throughout.
Congrats to all!

My vote goes to #3![]()
My vote is # 1
This was a tuff one. I like all four. The toss up was betwixed 1 and 3.
3 really wowed me but 1 seemed to have a very deep creative aspect to it.
The composer did not take the obvious route in chord structure there by broadening the melodic feeling.
Good GPO use in all four works.
Hats off to each of you that submitted. The works that you have toiled over are worthy of my utmost respect!
So on May 2nd are we going to try and guess who composed each peice?![]()

May 1st is approaching . . .
And then of course the contestants can reveal themselves as they wish!
Thanks again to the people who participated! It was a great experience, and if the winner should like to come up with a theme for another one of these duels, I would look forward to participating!

"serious music" ... as if the rest of us are just kidding
For me, it's a hard choice between #3 and #4.
Both equally excellent in different ways.
As it is a contest, and one has to be picked, I'll add a vote for #4.
