Cannot save large instrument in GS3 Editor

My computer is automatically restarting every time I try to save an instrument larger than 1GB. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Yes! All I can say:

Have you tried using the instrument you attempted to save? Though my comp. crashed, the instrument still saved successfully. Fully functional.

Try checking the box "Save samples in extension files for fast editing" or something to that effect in the save as dialog box. That might prevent further crashes. Just make sure that if you move the gig file, you move the extension file(s) as well.

    Hope this helps,

Yeah I did try the file, and while loading one of the instruments I got an error. I can't remember the exact error, but it said something like corrupt file. I'll try saving with that other option you mention.

    Thanks.

    Here's the error:

    "Unknown System Error.

Would you like to continue with loading of the performance?"

    performance??

Are you saving a .gsi? gsp? I thought you meant a .gig file....which is what my crash pertained to....I haven't had a prob like that in the workstation....
just the editor. That's where you find the file extension option.

Well the crash happens in the editor. What I showed was the error I get in GS3 if I try to load the file the editor saves before it crashes.

I tried the extension option and stilll get the crash. How big of a .gig file is possible? Maybe it's too big to save?

My phony expertise runs dry at this point. Dunno how big they can get...don't think I've seen anything in excess of two gigs. Sorry, and good luck.

ps. please post (or PM) if you find a solution. Although our issues w/saving gigs were different, mine is a cold case, and I'd like to hear if anything happens with your situation.
