    Question Ah the Archastra Library?

    Would ya happen to be havin a "Flexatone" (reg and large) in the new Archastra Library thar in me lads?

    How do you play it?

    The Flexatone is held in either hand with the thumb on the end of the metal strap (the blade). You apply pressure with your thumb up and down while shaking the whole instrument. The two wooden balls are attached by a thin metal strap on both sides of the blade and upon hitting cause the tone. The tone is thus "pitched" up and down by the pressure of you thumb. Sounds like a saw blade being played. I've used a violin bow on it and it is quite interesting.
    Hope this was clear. It's always best to demonstrate percussion instruments than to explain.

    Or, Styxx, you could type impressions of the instrument. For example, common flexatone technique sounds like this, rising and falling in pitch:
