The Pollen Bearers - work in progress

    Hey all!

I've been writing a new piece for full orchestra, and here is a semi-polished sketch I thought I'd share. It's only a minute and a half and has too many ideas crammed into such a small place, but I'll be fleshing it out, and moving things around until it makes sense to me. I hope you like it. It's very neo-classical/romantic.

I'd appreciate any feedback you might offer.

    Hi Skysaw,
    beautiful work in progress.
You are right: there are many ideas insight this piece.
I hope you will develop all them.
    Same thing happens to me:
many ideas but fews hours to spend around them.
    Anyway, really good piece!!!!
    Keep in writing!!!
    Best of Luck,
    Roberto

    Jamie,

So good to hear another work of yours. The ideas are very imaginitive and creative. The string runs, the dancing trills, disonant winds all weave a nice musical tapestry. fascinating.

Looking forward to hearing your next edition.

    Thanks, Gary.

I figure I might be ready for the next GPO orchestration contest in time... assuming you're having another one. (Please have another!)

That may be, but Jamie, you've got a goldmine of neat thematic material for development in there -- when you revise, don't rush the gig, man... lol... and make sure you give the materials their "propers".

I'm very much looking forward to hearing how this comes along, Jamie.

    Hi Skysaw -

You've got a lot of amazing ideas in here in such a small amount of time. I unfortunately don't have much musical theory experience, so I couldn't help you in that regard. But what I found really interesting was how every idea actually worked together. It was like one flowing into another. And I think these will all work together in your full symphony.

Beautiful work. I look forward to hearing it when it's completed.
