Looking for an impressive ambient sound library

    Hi,

Although my music is considered 'world fusion' it has a very big 'soundtrack' mood. I'm desperately looking for a sound library with excellent ambient moods to enhance my compositions. As I'm new to Gigastudio I'm not too familiar with the available sound libraries.

    Thanks for helping me out,

    Mark

PS: I really love this forum and I'd like to thank all the people who take their time to write

That would be "Distorted Reality" and "Distorted Reality-2" to try first.

Spectrasonics' Atmosphere or Zero-G's Morphology might fit the bill as well.

I thought I'd chime in on this one too, being that atmospheric stuff is some of my favorite. Try Pads 1 & Pads 2. These are thick polyphonically-dense layers of analog and digital synth stacks.

Not sure if this is up your alley, but there are also alot of soft versions of classic synths that have excellent pads and EFX presets for atmosphere (which you can also reprogram to your liking). These can then be stuck into a midi track in your sequencer along-side Giga. Some or most of the sites for these synths have samples to listen to and I find myself leaning towards getting some of these. I'm glad I held on to my Korg N364 since it is loaded with some pretty good atmospheric stuff, too.

Thanks for the great input. I've listened to the suggested libraries and Spectasonic's Atmosphere is impressive. I'm also thinking about Glass and Stones (the audio demo is wonderful). I have to say that the sound libraries are unbelievable. What a joy to make music nowadays. I'm looking forward to start using them asap.
