    Samuel alder

    I just bought the samuel alder book " The Study of orchestration" off amazon but i bought the cheaper version without the cd's would any be willing to copy me them for a small fee?

    Try looking at some of the used booksellers and eBay for the CD set...they sometimes show up there, although it may take a while to find them at a lower price than "new".

    Spend the money and get the CDs. It will be money well spent. This is a great book and the listening examples and CD ROM are also great.

    If you have any classical CD's, you may find some of the examples listed there. I was surprised when I actually looked through and found a bunch. It's eye opening to remember that all those examples come from the context of actual full pieces of music

    And more, in defense of Sam and your town: your local library can often achieve an interlibrary loan and get most any book for you, including the Adler. Give them a visit, save money and don't be a pirate either.
