    Where's my GIGA3 plug-in gone??

    Hello,
    Can anyone possibly help?
I reinstalled both Pro tools LE and GIGA3 , and now I get these errors in Pro tools:

On start up Pro tools says: "Kernel Drivers Not Loaded...should I try to load drivers now"

I then load a pre-saved song, and when I then fire up GIG3, I get Another PT error:"the following plug-in could not be found GIGA3

However, Pro Tools seems to find the GIGA3 plug-in when i create a new PT session.

can you tell me where the GIGA3 plug-in is, in order to put it into my PT plug-in folder??
    many thanks
    JOHn

GS doesn't run as a plugin. It runs standalone or as a rewire slave.

Hi and thank you for your interest in my plight!
All i can tell you is that I have PT LE and GIGa 3 on my laptop, which was all working fine, then went crazy.
I reinstalled both giga and PT, and now when I try to Rewire GIGA3 in PT, it is greyed out and reads "no giga plug-in".
    thanks again

Oh-rewire. It sounded like you had been using giga VST, which was curious, 'cuz it's not out yet (i don' think).

Try opening giga first. Launch your sequencer from there. Hope this helps.

    Re: Where's my GIGA3 plug-in gone??

Thank you fo your help. I'll try opening GIGA first.

    (just for the record)
    I get the error message:

"The system drivers for GIGA are not currectly loaded. If this situation continues please contact Technical Support.Should I try to load the drivers now?"

Would this happen simply because I opened Pro Tools before GIGA?
Could it just be a bad re-install of Pro Tools on my laptop?

When I answer the question with "YES", and attempt to open a song, the laptop crashes.
Interestingly, when I hit "NO", the laptop crashes also.

My Question now is....I get these error messages when I open Pro Tools ...but are the messages coming from Pro Tools or from the GIGASTUDIO??

    I'm thick!

    No, you're not.
I've had those messages too, and they resulted in....NOTHING. So I can't tell you where they come from or why. I'm guessing they come from giga....

Re-install both programs in the opposite order from what you did last time.
That's the only suggestion I can think of.

    Belbin,
    RE-installed as you suggested.
That seems to have fixed it.....your place in Heaven is secure!
    Muchos gracias

UHOH...maybe not...I just got the Pro tools error:

"The following plug-in was made inactive, because it could not be found in the plug-ins folder....GIGA3''

I'll just install it all over again....Linux anyone?

Jeez, man! Make sure your plugins folder points to a place where giga resides!
I use sonar, and never had to tell it where giga was for re-wire, but stranger things have happened....and I don't know PT.

Always try a variety of stuff before confirming the correctness of suggestions.
Heck, wait till you've got it running on an 18 GHz CPU!!! It'll never "work", dude-that's an illusion. A filthy little dream that dances around all of our respective geek-heads at night (those of us who aren't up late being geeks).

    Sorry, pessimistic mood.
