    Smile Ulisse and the mermaids

    hi,
I just updated my small website and i added this piece i wrote for the cello I recently bought named "Ulisse".

    http://corradin.altervista.org/mp3files.html

I used the same orchestral setup i prepared for the piece I submitted to the GPO competition, "The long journey".
I would like to submit it to the Composer Channel but I would like to hear your comments before doing it.
    thanks
    Michele

    Michele,

WOW - simply amazing composition!! I love your modulations and the constant shifting of your tonality. It is beautiful and realxing. The harpist's foot must be REALLY busy!

You have a wonderful gift! The woodwind passags are especially nice

What applications are you using to create this?

    Jerry,
thanks a lot for your comment! I'm just using GPO studio, Oveture and a midi keyboard.
I had some "cpu power" problems so I registered it in GPO studio setting the reverber quality to 0 than I added the reverb to the final audio but it's not exactly as I would like.
    thanks again for your comments

Wow - you are using just overture as your playback? That is nice. Just wait till Overture 4 comes out - you will be able to acheive even greater CONTROL over every aspect of your music. You won't have to use GPO Studio, since Overture 4 will host VSTi's. And you'll be able to "draw" in your CC data like you can in standard sequencer applications.

Truly a beautiful piece. I especially like the usage of harp throughout.

thanks a lot dlmusic. In the last pieces I wrote I always used the harp, it's a period that I love Debussy!
    Thanks again

Michele, nice work! Highly effective and intriguing harmonic transformations, and the gradual rise-and-build is very well done. Some of the extensile melodic work has almost a Brahmsian feel to it.

    Hi Michelle -

This is stunning. For awhile I forgot I was listening to a digital composition and not a live orchestra.

You are immensely talented. This is fantastic.
