Question G5/1.8 DP, Logic 7.1 and GPO

    Hello guys,

Before seems like joining the rest of the civilized world in buying GPO, being a Logic user with G5/1.8 DP, I am curious how it works within Logic 7.1. Not the actual step by step how to. I am sure that will be too big of a request. But for example, how many instances of KOMPAKT you can open, is easy to navigate through, and is G5 enough to run the full orchestral score without cutting corners on every turn? Would it require to have two hard drives to stream samples or does require at least 2 gig of RAM?

While the price is certainly great, it is still a simple issue of how it will serve me (and others) on daily basis on that particular Mac with that particular DAW, along with projects a deadlines.
If anybody having corresponding hardware and DAW can share their constructive pros and cons I would appreciate it very much.
I hope it will help many to make up their minds as well!

Thanks for your time in advance!

I have Logic Pro 7.0.1 and it works great with GPO, I will order the update to 7.1 in a week or so.

Re: G5/1.8 DP, Logic 7.1 and GPO

how many instances of KOMPAKT you can open,
GPO can load 8 instruments into one instance, I can use more than 8 full instance of GPO so that is over 64 instruments.

    is easy to navigate through,
    Yes.

is G5 enough to run the full orchestral score without cutting corners on every turn?
Hehe, the G5 can keep up with a PC if that is what your getting at.

Would it require to have two hard drives to stream samples or does require at least 2 gig of RAM
GPO loads all samples being used into ram so more ram is better, 2 gig would be enough though more would not be a bad thing.
