Looking for a FW 800 enclosure for SATA

    Hey guys -

I have one of my original G5 SATA 250 GB drives lying around that I'd like to make use of. Is there a SATA enclosure out there that has a Firewire 800 interface that you know of?

    Thanks!!!

You could step up to something like this:

I use this with a dual 2.7 g5. A 2 or 4 port SATA PCI card comes with the enclosure. It is faster than FW800

I'm using this FirmTek/SeriTek PCI card with the dual Hot-Swap enclosure hanging off a G4 dual 800 Quicksilver and hosting a pair of Raptor 74Gb drives. Beats Firewire 800 into a cocked hat.

Plus, it's a G5-ready sample-streaming station that enables me to get as much performance out of my G4 as possible right now.

    Kind regards.

wow - thanks for this info! I wasn't even aware of this solution. I had read about some solutions costing several hundred dollars (involving adding more SATA support inside the box), but this looks ideal!
