Creating and Modifying Fills with Chaos Designer

I have been playing around with the chaos designer and edit groups in order to try and create or modify some snare fills on the grooves that I am using.
I assigned backbeats to an edit group and played around with this in chaos designer but this doesn't let me isolate just the snare drum as it is playing off the backbeat at times during the existing fill that I want to modify. I see there are a lot of options for choosing the timing i.e. 8th, 16th notes etc in the assigned edit groups and I was just looking for a bit more advice or suggestions please on how best to go about making or changing snare fills.

    Cheers

It's easy to make an edit group that has any slices you want in it.
Just play the slice you want to isolate, then choose "Create Edit Group".

If you want to add other slices to that edit group, choose "Enable add/remove slices", and play some slices, pressing "add" after each one you want to add to the edit group.
