    Who will be poster #66,666?

Who will be the beast? You know the one I mean--THE one with the post that's numbered 66 thousand 666. Could be an "omen".

I'm playing devil's advocate, here, but all hell could break loose after the post number 66 thousand 666.

This poster will get a free copy of GOS, GPO or the upcoming Jazz/BB libary in order to write heavenly music to pay their way out of purgatory.

Ooh, it's time for another post-o-rama... after the chaos of the last one I shall resign myself to capturing photographic evidence of this ominous "#66,666th" poster.

erg, who would want to win that way?

did you guys know that Ned Rorem, the contemporary composer (teaches at Curtis, I believe), composed a Hymn to Satan ??? I think it was actually an entire series of pieces, kind of like a small satanic "mass."

I randomly found the score at The Strand (a huge used bookstore in manhattan) when I was in college. I asked my composition teacher at the time (he's friends with Rorem), and he had no idea about it.

Before I go sullying his name, I should clarify that he didn't write the TEXT, and I'm fairly certain it is not refliective of his beliefs--I believe it was an official text from the church of satan or something. I'm not really sure what inspired the piece, probably just the desire to try something kooky and different. I probably have the score in a box somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up and elaborate for you guys.

As far as I know there are no recordings (who would want to sing that?), and I've found virtually NO information on it on the web.

Pretty crazy though, and one of those random obscure finds.

just remembered, it wasn't a mass, it was a litany based on a poem of Baudelaire. I think the piece was "5 Poems of Baudelaire" or something, and it included the hymn to Satan.

Whoever the 66,666th poster is, please take a screenshot. This way we won't have competing claimants for the demon prize.

Always knew I'd have to sell my soul to you-know-who to make it big in music
