    Sequencer

So I've been using EWQLSO with Fruity Loops for a while. It works for me but it is looking like I'll be needing a lot more RAM. Right now I have 512Mb. What sequencer do you all use, and how much RAM do you have? I'm pretty new here, so it'd be cool if you guys all posted your best composition on this thread, yes?

    cheers,

    Welcome to NSS.

I use SAW Studio and MIDI Workshop for my audio/sequencing needs.

And my personal favorites, compositionally, are entitled October and November.

I use 768MB of RDRAM PC1066, but actually need a whole lot more, but the ram type for my mobo is discontinued, therefor, expensive. I would recommend a minimum of 1GB though if you are upgrading.

Feel free to post some of your work as well.

If you're using Gold you'd do well to pop 2gb of ram in your host DAW. I have Gold spread over three machines with a total of 5.5gb of ram to load up samples.

For the sequencer Im running Cubase SX 2.2

    Scott:

I'm curious how you have your rig setup - how you are distributing you GOLD and what other sound modules you are using and distributing across your machines. I'm interested in picking up a copy of GOLD and wish to be prepared for the hw needs etc...

    Re: Sequencer

    I use a mac G5 with 6Gb just as a soundmodule.
Since 32bit programms like kontakt, kompakt, etc can not use
6Gb, I open 3 versions of kontakt or V-Stack and each version
    uses 2Gb.
I don´t know, if thats possible on a pc, but I think that´s most
you can get out of one computer.

My sequenzer is opcodes studio vision on a mac with system 8.1 :-)
I also got logic7, but I like studio vision more. (Last update 1997)

These days everything has been ported into Kontakt2. I have a huge template incorporating Gold, GOS, LOP, SOV, G-Town, SAM, etc, etc, spread over three machines via a Gigabit Lan and FX-Teleport.

    DAW-1 - Dual Xeon 2gb ram
    DAW-2 Athlon 2600 2gb ram
    DAW-3 Athlon 2000 1.5gb ram
