For all of you interested in speed of your disks (e.g. HD) I would like to bring to your attention a small utility called DskBench (I first read about it in SOS magazine about a year ago) which is a very simple yet informative tool.
The SESA web page states that \"DskBench is a simple file I/O benchmark utility that measures accurately file I/O performance for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT4 systems.
DskBench measures the uncached sequential file read and write throughputs, stating the CPU usage as well.
DskBench also measures the overall throughput during multiple file reads, what makes it a superb tool to measure the system performance for multitrack recording software. It reports the performance for various application read block sizes.\"
