When my baby daughter was born almost 8 weeks ago, many of you intimated that ALL my time would be taken up with her, more than I knew!
Well, let me say you were TOTALLY 100% telling the truth!!
When we first met her 2 days after she was born (we are adopting her), I fell in love right on the spot. I knew beforehand that I was planning on writing her a little lullaby. Somehow during the first week (all a blur to me - don't ask me how I did it), I came up with the first half of it. But then because EVERY spare moment was taken up with caring for her, I never got to the rest of it. (Or even got to REST period! ) It has been really bugging me because I have been wanting to have her listen to it all this time. Well, I FINALLY have it done and thought I would share it with you.
I wrote it first in Finale and then exported it to Tracktion.
I will add the PDF of the score soon.
Here is the full score:
(EDIT: Added the score)
Here it is. Lullaby for Claire Annette Marie Wickham
(EDIT: - Ths is new Revised version - Harp and Glockenspiel have been brought down a bit so they aren't so loud. Otherwise, it's exactly the same)
And here is a cute pic of her smiling in her sleep:
