    K8NS help needed...

Can anyone tell me how to remove the backplate on the K8NS-939-ultra?

Going to install the Zalman 7700 but have no idea how to replace the backplate..

    Thanks Steve

(Sorry to be thick, just don't want to risk doing it wrong)

    *coughs*

Hmm, seeing as I'm in thick mode tonight, what are the power connectors on the front panel for? (In the Sonata II).

I really shouldn't build machines at Midnight.

    Thanks Steve

Rich, do you mean the 4 pin molex connecters?

I'm guessing they power the LEDs but not sure.

    Thanks Steve

Yea, the front panel can be lit up with he LED connectors... you`ll see where they lead.. but its just cosmetic.. its all in the manual ,no? Its the quietest case for the bucks ! I wish i got 2 of them..... Rich

Can anyone tell me how to physically use (format or otherwise) drives attached to the Sil3512 controller?

I can see them in the device manager, I can see the SiL Controller too.
Set the BIOS for SATA Function to BASE (as I'm not intending to actually raid these two drives).

    Now I'm stumped.

Should I just give up and use the Nforce SATA headers?

As it stands I have OS (IDE) Audio (IDE) and these two drives are intended to be sample libraries.

Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts (especially after my inability to remove the backplate - which is quite embarassing).

    Thanks Steve

    Ack!!

I swear I've lost the plot. You'd never guess I work with software for a living.
(Helps if you partition the drive in the manage section).

I must have had a bad week at work this week, my brain is all over the place.

    Thanks anywho.

I have to warn you , although you`ll probably be all right if you are just using the SiL for samples.. but the Nforce3 chipset is better for Audio..So definatley use those If you going to write audio to you drives..there are known issues....Rich
