midi file -> mp3 or wav using gigasampler?

I want to be able to synthesise piano
from midi files into wav or mp3 files,
and am trying to discover whether
    gigasampler is for me.

Is it possible to do this entirely
    soft using gigasampler or does
it have to have its input and output
    through a sound card?

Giga has a capture to .wav function that works very well. From there you can convert to .mp3 using an audio editor such as Sound Forge if you want.

So, if I only want to use \"capture to wav\"
does that mean I don\'t need to buy myself
    a gigasampler compliant soundcard?

How about the midi input, do I have to
have a sequencer to play the midi
or can I just give the midi file to
    gigasampler?

I\'m pretty sure you still need a compliant sound card for Giga to operate. The card must support either Microsoft DirectSound or Giga\'s own GSIF interface. There is a broad range of cards in all price ranges that support one standard or the other so it doesn\'t have to be a huge investment. - Doug

    > How about the midi input

You need a sequencer or a keyboard.
