Topic: Knights of the Round Table

    Knights of the Round Table

Ah, nothing sets the imagination ablaze like the tales of medieval times! I finished this piece near the beginning of summer, but I am just getting around to posting it. It's meant to capture the majesty and the valor of the knights' journeys. It's only 5:15 long (but took forever to upload on dial-up ). Any comments/critiques are welcome as always.

Instrumentation: piccolo, flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 3 horns, trumpet, harp, glockenspiel, bunch o' percussion, timpani, strings.

Again, two formats, depending on how long you want to wait for it to download . . .

Thanks for listening, hope you enjoy!

Great job. I'm going to be humming that tune all day long!!

I can very easily imagine a procession of nobles, knights, mages and their court.

Very nice Oboe/Harp duet. Two of my favorite instruments. Did you note or sequence. Just curious.

The only thing I could recommend is maybe use more dynamic changes. Maybe you did, but my speakers aren't the best. Other than that, fantastic.

    Keep up the great work.

About 1:28, the oboe was very beautiful.

I also find myself compelled to start humming this It's a catchy melody.

    AHhhh, Thats my boy!!!

It is amazing how each posting that you make is a new and creative work of beauty. You are really finding your way around GPO.
That is a snappy ending that you worked in there too.

I like your writing, I still listen to Octet.

Keep up the good work, I always look forward to your postings.

Thanks for listening and for all your kind words. I love GPO's oboes, so I had to give it that little part.

    I love that picture, LouisD!

    Whew, the Octet . . . I guess I finished that about a year ago this month . . . time flies.

Thanks again, I'm glad the piece was enjoyed.
