Some good news (for me, at least)

Some of you may remember a discussion about my piece The Starry Messenger back in May. Haydn had done a GPO version of it, which I posted on my website. Here's the thread in case you missed it.

I just learned that the piece has been selected to be performed at the Society of Composers regional conference on November 12!

It will be performed by the Butler University Symphony Orchestra at Clowes Hall in the evening (I assume 7:30, though they didn't say). It will be open to the public, so you're invited if you happen to be in the area.

    Wish me luck!

Absolutely GREAT, DAN. It is a marvelous piece and I certainly hope the live performance will impress you even more than Haydn's realisation.

Wish I could be there for the performance. Good luck. Nah, you don't need luck, your skill and artistry will see this through to an outstanding evening.

    That's fantastic Dan! Congratulations!

I really liked The Starry Messenger and your work certainly deserves to be performed in concert.

I hope you can make a video and recording of it to share with us.

Thanks for sharing the good news.

Yes, it is. But it's something like 25 years old, and I'm not sure where I heard it. I think he may have said it on a radio interview I heard.
