    Spiral Galaxies

Nr. 2 of Galactica Suite, recently revised, as the original was playable only by computer, not live performers. I had the idea of an orchestral suite that would use live performers, including a performer who would control the computer parts, but the software was not good, and has disappeared.

Spiral galaxies are not really such tranquil things as this piece might suggest, but photos of them are quite restful and pacifying (to me).

There now remains one more movement of the Galactica Suite, which is still a scattering of manuscript paper drifting around the room.

This link will display various options. Near the top, you can select streaming audio by whacking "Play MP3". I don't know how well this works, as streaming audio for me is hopeless.

If you have the Scorch plug in, you will also see the score, if you wish to look at it. If you don't have the plug-in, you will see a blank where the score should be, with instructions of how to get the plug in if you so desire.

Below all this, under "details" you can select Download MP3, which is useful if streaming audio is not good for you.

Very well constructed piece, Mr. Wayland. I enjoyed it a great deal! Where might I find the other movements?

Tremendous energy in that piece and interesting texture with vibes (celeste?) and strings sort of going their own way. I thought perhaps a formal design (aba or whatever) may have been welcome but still a very cool piece of music.

Well, here are the links of the suite that are presently available. There is at least one other that may be trashed or simply removed from the suite as not compatible. There is one more under construction.

The links will take you to the scores, where you have the option of looking at the score, or not. If you wish only to listen, scroll down below the music (or the blank where the music would be if you had the plug in) and select the mp3 under Details. All mp3's are GPO, except a drum somewhere.

I considered a slightly more rigid form, but thought it might detract from the randomness of the spirals I was thinking of. The cello is totally on it's own path, but the other voices are related, with some time and tempo distortion/variation.
