Advice on slicing single drum hits for RMX?

I'm trying to slice up different snare drums to use in RMX.
I've noticed that when I trigger the snare drum samples they sound
too short or cut off if I try to play anything other than just a simple quarter
note backbeat. In other words if I lift my finger off of the key to play
another snare hit the first one sounds too short. What would be a workaround for this? Is there a certain slicing technique that I need to use in ReCycle for this type of single hit to be playable at different speeds?

    Thanks,

    Tom

Have you tried to increase the release time of the ampenvelope on the edit page in RMX?

I'm new to RMX but I just saw a QT video that showed that some of the hits have their ambience on another midi note. The video showed how you would have to include that note after the initial hit to keep it from sounding truncated.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks guys- Yes, I knew about the ambience on a separate slice.
Also, adjusting the release time seemed to help a bit.

    Thanks again,

    Tom
