    BFD "Steve Albini" pack

Thought this would interest some of you -- we've released a new 55GB expansion library for BFD, recorded at Electrical Audio by Steve Albini (session supervision, mic selection and setup, drum setup) and Steve Duda (all the digital stuff that the other Steve won't go near -- i.e. running the PT|HD rig).

    The pack contains 8 kits:-
Ludwig VistaLite, monster red lucite kit with 6 toms and 2 kicks
    Backyard Drums prototype kit (2005)
Ludwig 1965 ClubDate (a cheap but popular kit)
    Gretsch USA Maple Series
    Ludwig 1967 Orange kit
    Sonor Designer 2002
    Yamaha Pro Tour (1990s)
DW Birch kit, 1990s, black oyster pearl finish

A full listing can be found here:- http://www.fxpansion.com/product-deluxe-kitlistings.php -- there are the usual extra snares and cymbals. Some of these kit pieces are sampled at 128 velocities.

The overall sound is drier and tighter than the original BFD + XFL samples.

I didn't think that Steve Albini did digital. Does this library need to be used in an analog sampler?
That would kick ~~~. Ten Mellotrons in parallel for all the mic groups. Snare rolls'd be a bitch tho', never mind the tape hiss!

<wonders if anybody's ever built a tape-loop sampler for e-drumming purposes, in the days before Simmons and LM-1.. would sound really neat -- could buy 40 or 50 old 1/4in, 8-track machines for cheap off eBay, would be enough for a small 7 or 8 piece kit>
