Are we missing somebody? Who wrote #2? I think you had the best percussion work. Could you eloborate?

    Thanks!

What!? That just doesn't make any sense . . . Too many notes, perhaps?

I am responsible for #2. When orchestrating, my main focus was on choosing the harmonies. Most of the harmonies were in the F major key, though they switch to D major I believe halfway through the melody before going back to F major. Since the melody did not start with a I triad, I added some harmonic progressions between repitions of the melody to get the harmony back where I needed it to be. I'm glad you liked the percussion, Drumroll! When I imagine the orchestration in my head, percussion tends to come with it, so I just added what percussion I heard in my head the best I could as I orchestrated along.

I agree my ending could have been stronger, endings in general are one of the toughest things for me to compose/orchestrate.

When voting, I chose #1, as after listening to them all for a long time, #1 was just the one that got stuck in my head the most. It tortured me inside to vote, as all the entries were so good. Hopefully I can post more detailed responses to each entry when I have the time, there's a lot I would like to say.

Congratulations to all for such great entries! Thanks Linda for such a great theme! And thanks to all who participated in the voting!

I look forward to a theme for round 5 from the winner, Mika!

    Ok,
So it's my turn to make the melody?
    How do I proceed?
I don't have a home page of my own, so where shall I post the theme?
Sorry my ignorance, I'm sure this has been discussed earlier.

    Congratulations!

If you don't have a home page, I can certainly host and post your theme for you (especially since I'd end up copying it to the Orchestration Challenge website anyway ). Whenever you've written it, just email me at sean@wizardwalk.com

After the theme is posted, and others orchestrate their pieces, do you have an email you can collect the entries with? After collecting the entries, you could then just email them to me as Linda did for this round, and I'll upload them to my website. If you don't have an email, I wouldn't mind at all collecting the entries, provided you trust me enough to know that I won't cheat if I want to enter it myself.

I look forward to your theme!

    Thanks again Sean!!!

Mika: Sean was very kind to post my melody on his website, because I don't have one. I am sure he will respond to your request, soon.

    Ok,
This sounds nice. Buy the way, I didn't thank you specifically for your clever melody
I'm very busy this week, but I think I'll be sending the melody for you this weekend, Sean, thanks for hosting!
