"Gloria In Excelsis" - A Christmas Fanfare

This is an original fanfare for brass choir, 3 piccolos and percussion, written in 2002. This realization is straight out of Finale 2006 with full GPO (plus a reverb and mastering filter). Hope you enjoy.

    Gloria In Excelsis

It will be performed again live next month at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.

Awesome! Beautiful fanfare orchestration and melody! I only wish I could get there to hear it live, it must sound wonderful. Congrats!

    Wow,

This was a great arrangement! Has a very contemporary feel to it.

It would sound wonderful in a live performance!

    Congrats!

Beautiful work, Dargason. Well written, well scored, and well realized. (An interesting ensemble! Inventive and highly effective use of the piccolos, almost a church organ-like effect in places.)

Would love to hear this live, too... there's nothing like the warmth of a live performance for brass pieces like this.

A very masterful fanfare. I must echo etLux on the original inclusion of piccolos. If you can, it would be a great comparison to record the live performance to stand beside GPO.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. The fanfares are normally not recorded as they are performed in the large marbled foyer prior to the actual concert. I have tried recording with the camcorder but the results have been disappointing. They are always well received though.
