Ok so here it is, I am running an old G4 as a farm computer for one of our systems. I am trying to figure out the fastest hard drive solution, and here's how I see it:

1. If I run a nice fast drive on the IDE buss; it is an ATA-66

2. If I run a FW drive (400) on a good, fast drive I believe I will get 50MB/sec from the FW.

3. If I run a SCSI card in one of my PCI slots, the way I understand it the PCI buss is running at 33MHZ (64 bit) so the fastest drive I can use will be limited by the PCI buss speed.

I am not sure which option would yield the best drive performance.

Any ideas on this?
