    When the Moon Hits Your Eye

    The NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day is pretty interesting. One month of the moon in about 1 second.

    "Our Moon's appearance changes nightly. This time-lapse sequence shows what our Moon looks like during a lunation, a complete lunar cycle. As the Moon orbits the Earth, the half illuminated by the Sun first becomes increasingly visible, then decreasingly visible. The Moon always keeps the same face toward the Earth. The Moon's apparent size changes slightly, though, and a slight wobble called a libration is discernable as it progresses along its elliptical orbit. During the cycle, sunlight reflects from the Moon at different angles, and so illuminates different features differently."
    Lots of other great pictures here.

    That's the perfect pic for Monday, which comes from "Day of the Moon" (I think)

    Would you like to go there? How about re-creating a historic Apollo mission (with all the knobs and switches too), then head for;

    This is the absolute best in space simulation and it's free too!

    If you're gonna have a go with Orbiter you run a real danger of getting hooked. Sleepness nights beckon...
