Thumbs up Punk Rock Concert in the gym today.

This should be interesting. Hopevale has never had any band concerts ever and this being the first will be a complete undertaking. It is part of Music Appreciation week.
So, that being what it is ... I appreciate all the fine composers of this forum!
I'll keep you posted as to the outcome of this concert!

Hmmm . . . I had never associated the term "Music Appreciation" with Punk Rock . . .

As my father says, Preciate Cha!

Re: Punk Rock Concert in the gym today.

The band is The Juliet Dagger, three girls up front with guitars and a male drummer. Had a chance to talk with the drummer, Josh, about drums and thangs. Naturally I am wearing my Garritan T-Shirt (show off) and yes a few members of the band hear of Garritan saying, "isn't that the conductor from the Smithsonian institute of personal stuffs?" Have another red bull baby and we'll discuss this later.
Joseph, the rolling eyes are for the potential negative reaction to the genre of music being presented seeing that most of the kid's here love rap and hip-hop! No bashing of Punk intended. As a matter of fact they are pretty damn good! The girls have awesome three part harmonies!
Still, they need a keyboard player triggering GPO sounds. Anyone interested?

Hey, I'm friends with the singer, Erin! We used to do coffeeshop shows together and were both in a production of your favorite musical (she was an amazing Mary). Incredibly talented, though I liked her solo acoustic music better. That's just my taste, though. The band is doing really well and that's cool. Wish I knew they would be there, as I'd have asked you to say "hi" from me. Oh well.

    Are the girls cute??

Update- checked out their site. WAY too tight and midtempo to be considered punk in any way, shape or form. The lyrics are completely intelligible. They're slightly edgy pop. Rather good though, I like it. But any real punks (sorry, real neopunks, there haven't been real punks since 1976) at your school SHOULD have torn the place apart in protest. Punks today, pitiful.

Styxx, time to brush up on your stage diving.

The kids will totally know your the coolest if you do that.

Of course, if this is a rap hip hop crowd at a punk show, you may end up eating the gymnasium floor.

    So, maybe not...

They have an album on iTunes titled Turn Up The Death. They sound like retro eighties girl band with a little more edge. A good punk band would have had a least one fist fight with the crowd, stripped almost naked, barfed on the floor, rolled in it and been escorted to the city limits by the police.
