    Mulit Standalone K2 Instances???

    How does one achieve this?

NOT loading in several instances to VSTACK. This is NOT what I mean. I would like to access more than 4 ports worth of instruments.

    Any thoughts?????

    TIA

My question is why would you need more than 64 instruments - or if using instrument banks, then 8192 (that's 64 channels times 128 bank slots) different instruments in standalone operation? Usually standalone is used for live applications. If you are using 64 different controllers on separate MIDIs each controller can access 128 different instruments.

To get more than that I believe you need to:

    1. Use a sequencing program and run K2 as a VI in multiple instances
    2. Buy more computers and run a standalone K2 on each machine

Maybe someone else knows how beyond that.

Seriously, what are you using this setup for? You've piqued my curiosity.

I know guys that run K2 on several machines. But, there's a catch. You have to purchase a seperate licence for each install.

You are allowed to install the same Kontakt (one serial) on two machines (two registrations).

But to achieve your goal, a simple VST host that handled your >4 midi ports would be an easier solution, I think.

Thats no problem on a mac.
Simply dublitate the program, rename it and open both.
This works with every mac program, even logic,

and it makes sense, since every application can address 2GB.
So. if you have 6GB Ram installed, you can load much more samples.
Unfortunally, the CPU still gets problems with too many samples.
