    Class Assignment

This is something that I wrote as a class assignment at the tender age of eighteen (several centuries ago).

The professor verbally tore it apart. He was from Austria and he said to me, "Veak ending...veak ending!" (among other things).

This features the GPO Steinway piano.

    My best to all,

    LGA

    Thumbs up Re: Class Assignment

Larry, might I suggest taking a "Veak" off?
Nice intro! Me, maybe a bit more dynamics but that's about it and concidering when you wrote this I take it you were already into the learning mode. So, what ... this person had no constructive comments of positive on your right hand, left hand diverse writing?
I like, even mit da veak endingk!

The professor had very high standards and he was also my piano teacher. That was two strikes against me from the beginning.

    Thanks for listening.

I agree with your teacher, I would like a better ending and more dynamics.

He knew a lot more than I did, that's for sure.
I was just a 'wet-behind-the-ears' kid at the time.

    Thanks, Frank.

Well I have to say this is interesting hearing the budding Larry. Even then some of your elements of style were beginning to show. As for your teacher, I believe you have got the last laugh.

He was hard on all of his students. I believe that he thought that we all should write as well as Mozart. Of course, that wasn't going to happen.

    Thanks for your comments.

I would love to have a composition teacher like that. I hate the ones that say "oh that is good" when in reality it sucks and could be much better.
