Clown Attack! A new GPO composition.

    Hi Folks,

I just thought I would share my latest "for-fun" endeavor with GPO. I went a bit crazy with this one. Hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think.

I think it would have been fun to have JABB with this one! Still a starving student though...maybe for Christmas

Haha, that was very funny and well executed!

I really liked how you used the relative "downsides" of some samples to their advantage! Good mixing on those strings, too! Did you layer them with solos? They sound so full in some places.

    Good piece!

    Hey Pete,

Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it! I actually didn't use any layering with solo strings at all. Any added fullness was accomplished through doubling the strings with the winds.

It's always a mystery to me how people can say so much in 2 minutes. Orchestration is full of pleasant surprises. Extremely enjoyable.
    Thanks a lot, Ric.
BTW, God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman is a little masterpiece too.

Excellent job, Ric. I've done some clown-themed composing myself and I wonder... should that be a genre unto itself? "Clown Music"?

Thank you all for your comments. And yes Shazbot, I foresee many more "clown pieces". Next...clown love perhaps?

This is a real kick, and *extremely* well done, Ric -- not just the rendering, but the writing.

    Great job!

Excellent piece. If you could imagine Prokofiev writing for Hollywood this is what it would sound like. Thanks.
