Sorry to put this here rather than in Hardware, but I need an answer from the Brain Trust.
I'm putting another drive in one of my Windows machines this morning. How big should the blocks be to get the best streaming performance in Giga? (I don't care about wasting space - hard drives are cheap.)
Usually the sweet spot is 64k (largest). Go ahead and format the drive, Download Dskbench, unzip it, and place it on the root of the drive you just formatted. It will stream various size files. Look at track count per sector size.
