    Cool Advice: building new comp for piano playing

    I'm hoping to get advice for building a new computer for Post Piano real time playing. I don't know if ecc or non ecc is a factor and if nforce 4 dual core is currently consider to be the best. Any advice is appreciated!

    Thank-you

    HI,
    Nforce 4 without a UAD and with a dual core is fine for the most part
    it sorta varies from board to board.

    Jcschild;

    Thank-you for your response.

    With my nforce2 I have buffers at 128 which gives me a 2ms latency, it plays pretty well but is unable to handle scripts. What sort of latency does a nforce4 using a piano perform well at? Would you mind elaborting a bit about script performance also.

    I've been hunting down nforce3 solutions but I would perfer nforce4 however I understand that there are latency issues with them.

    HI,

    there were serious issues with nforce 4 at first particularly with single core
    and that still exists.
    as long as you use dual core your fine. and no UAD cards.
    very low lantecy is possible.

    there is presently nothing faster unless you go dual core dual opteron.

    Jcschild;

    Will a 3800+ Dual be able to handle The Post and TBO pianos?

    1.Not really
    2.Just Barely
    3.More than enough

    Thank-you for you response to my questions.
