Re: Samples for Argentinian tango music: I could need some advice
Hi everyone,
I'm new here, I registered especially for this tango/bandoneon topic !
I got Gypsy from East West Quantum Leap, and its accordions and bandoneon are average.
A good point is that they have edited 7 articulations for the bandoneon :
sustain / sforzando / portato / short / crescendo / sustain accent 1 / sutain accent 2
I'm not much experimented but to my opinion those instruments lack spirit.
I precise that I don't have been able to compare to other products
except a free accordion made by someone especially for Garage Band users. I assume it is very good as a freeware : http://www.musicdrawer.com/main.php
Here is what dispointed me in Gypsy accordions and bandoneon :
- I found the accordions and the bandoneon too soft,
the reaction (I don't know much technical words to say that) is not quick enough when one (at least I) plays it, especially the accordions that are.
kind of limp (and seems to be slower than the freeware I mentioned).
- there is no sforzando articulation for the accordions
- the bandoneon sforzando is not strong enough. They should have made too levels of it.
I haven't tried a volume pedal yet with the bandoneon (for I don't have one yet !)
- The bandoneon sound is dull/lacklustre on the left part of the keyboard (deeper notes, which is the right hand I assume), the sound is kind of smothered, deafen, much too much (I assume this difference is not normal for a bandoneon, I don't think such a difference between the two hands is normal). It's very much disapointing.
Does anyone tried Accordions by Best Service ?
I heard their demos and it doesn't convince me.
Moreover they don't describe any of the articulation of their instruments in their presentation of the product.
So I'm very curious about your own experience in founding a satisfying sampled bandoneon !
For example I'd like to have new details about "Play the Tango" by Big Fish Audio.
Re: Samples for Argentinian tango music: I could need some advice
Since my last post I have seen there were some other threads about bandoneon, particularly a thread about Accordions the library of E. Tarilonte for Best Service.
I had answers and detailed informations from E. Tarilonte about his library that are very good news :
