This is my "Prizm". It is all-GPO, featuring the strings and Steinway piano.
Larry, this is definitely one of your most interesting works. The [structural] balance and shaping is really on the mark -- and the piano writing is superb... some of the very best I've heard from you. As a [gracefully retired] pianist, I can just feel the way it falls under the hands, that perfect fit.
Excellent piece! I've listened through this several times.
I am grateful to you, Dave, for your kind comments.
I thought perhaps that my work was pretty much "ham-handed" in that my "pianist" isn't playing his instrument...he's attacking it! I suppose there's nothing subtle about this composition.
Thanks and regards,
Subtle isn't always a *good* thing, Larry... lol.
And "attacking" isn't quite the right word. The playing is aggressive and energetic -- which is what the thematic material demands in this piece.
A very good piece once angain.
