The Strad meets Lyrical Distortion! (With special guest Fabio!)

    OK, it's back!!

This is a demo written to showcase Bela D. Media's mighty electric guitar lib Lyrical Distortion. Since it's a guitar lib I figured why not emulate a mighty guitar player so I did a short song in the style of legendary 70's fusion/rock/bluegrass band the Dixie Dregs. Since they have a violinist I thought it would be fun to try out the Strad in a rock setting. I sent the MIDI file to Fabio who took my original lines and adapted them to the Solo Strad, tweaking the slurring and such. Considering it wasn't programmed for the Stard in the first place I think it sounds awesome. And just goes to show the Strad can work in any setting the real thing can. I added some effects to it in the mix for an authentic electric violin sound.
All lead and rhythm guitar is Lyrical Distortion by Bela D. Drums are Toontrack's DFHS. Enjoy!

I made a couple tweaks to the mix and added the MiniMoog solo back in. It's not the official version but you can hear it on my Soundclick page:

    It's the top song.

Not my usual fare but I enjoyed this. Have to agree with bringing the fiddle up a little more. It would make the piece if it had more presence,

    Hot!

Love the sound you got out of this!

Seriously, Fred, I'd like to hear a lot more from this end of the musical spectrum around here... so go to it. This is solid work, well done.

I was doing exactly this kind of material in the early 70's (had a fairly successful regional rock band at the time, NorthStar)... still groove out on it.

Like Brian said, I think I'd pull the Strad up in the mix a little... also, voice the piano a little brighter on top and maybe kick the B3 riffs to the front some.

    MORE PLEASE!

I don't get it - I only see a link to a JPEG in your original (largely Cyrillic) post...

That is strange. It will probably be OK again after a while.

Well, it is still unchanged, and I have not learned enough Russian to figure it out, just recognized a few simple words. There is a link to a photo of somebody reading an old communist newspaper.
