    Orchestration Challenge 6

I just got the themes! Because there was a tie last round between Fossman and Drumroll, they worked together to create two complimentary themes, which means this round should be double the excitement!

Here's a pic of the themes:

PDF: http://wizardwalk.com/OrchestrateDuel/Challenge6.pdf (much easier to see the themes here)
    MIDI: http://wizardwalk.com/OrchestrateDuel/Challenge6.mid
    MP3: http://wizardwalk.com/OrchestrateDuel/Challenge6.mp3

Any suggestions on what the deadline should be? We usually let it run for about four weeks.

I'm not yet sure who'll be doing the entry collection. I certainly don't mind doing it myself, but if Fossman or Drumroll would rather do it, it's up to them.

Many thanks to Foster and Paula for working together to create the themes for Challenge 6, and congrats to them for their victory in Challenge 5!

    I'll update the archive soon...

I finally updated the archive site at:

    http://wizardwalk.com/OrchestrationChallenges/index.htm

It now has the Challenge 6 theme and all the resources from all the previous rounds thus far.

It would be great if you could collect them Sean, if Foster has no objections. And thank you for your praise!

COOL! This is gonna be a fun round!!!!!!!

If we ignore the rest of this week, then we could get an even 4 weeks working time by having the entries due on Sunday, Feb 19.

That way the winner would be announced on President's Day (not sure what significance that might have...but it's on the calendar, so what the hey!).

Can't wait to get this one home so I can listen to it...

    Sean,

Do you think that the rules need to be updated to say that you can use "GPO, JABB & Strad" - or simply "Garritan products" - so that no-one thinks they are limited to using just the the original GPO?

    Great melodies to work with!!!

    This will be fun.

I think that the comp should include all Garritan products.

    Viva Garitan!!!!!

I almost bought the strad this weekend but ended up buying furnishings for the house instead.

Ah, yes, this is a good idea! I changed the rules part of the archive site.

I haven't heard from FossMan, but unless he objects, I can collect the entries for this round at sean@wizardwalk.com

    Sean:

I just want to be sure about the time that Challenge VI is due. Is it February 19th as was suggested. I didn't see any final response about that - or I missed it somehow.

    Thanks.
