Help LGA compose a piano work...

    All,

Here is a piano work that I wrote this morning while waiting for my coffee to brew. This is the GPO Steinway piano.

If you would like to work with it and add dynamics, pedal, etc., feel free to do so. I am attaching the MIDI file for downloading. Don't change any of the notes (composer pride, you know). This is not a contest and there is no prize. If you do work with it, I would certainly be interested in hearing the result.

    Regards to all,

    Larry A.

    No prize? Harumph.

Strong writing, Larry; like the piece.

Be interesting to hear interpretation by others... neat idea, really.

You crafty old devil, though -- I see the beginnings, here, of an Edison-like factory of creativity: The patented hyper-space pen of Alexander spews forth a whirlwind of music, whilst thousands of worker-bees scramble to interpret it all... lol.

Writ while waiting for the coffee to brew, eh? Were it me, the coffee'd be three days old, and I'd be working on the fourth measure.

    HAHAHAHA!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Larry, you've written many piano works. Is there any way I can get the music and learn some of it? This one in particular. I really like they way you develop your themes and stuff. I guess I could snatch up the MIDI, and while I'm at it I might as well submit my interpretation. Now only if my DAW had internet...
    Nothing is ever simple.

Actually, I was hoping that you would add the Sosnowski touch to this music. What a combination: Larry and Dave...the next Ferrante and Teicher. (Younger members of the forum won't know who the heck I'm talking about.)

I didn't know that you were a keyboard artist too.

I'm not looking for "interpretations" of my music, as such. I just wanted to see how other people would utililize dynamics, pedals, etc. on this particular piece.

The question is, which one would I be... lol?

Now Larry, you know I can't deal with anything that doesn't change time signatures seven times in thirty seconds... and, for heaven's sake, there are [gasp!] progressions in this! Why, it's downright tonal! I'll bet it even has a key signature.

Really, my friend, this is just... too "far out" for me to, er, Handel.
