    Question Aaron Copland.

Dover Publications does not carry scores by Aaron Copland? Anyone have a clue as to where I can find the score for Appalachian Springs?

This is probably not helpful... but it's neat to look at :

You just can't beat his orchestration of the shaker theme

Dover only publishes/re-publishes works that have entered public domain. I am certain that most, if not all, of Copland's works are still under copyright. Dover is good at adding works once copyright expires, but as Copland died only 16 years ago, you might have to wait a while to get the score cheaply

Yes, true ... I realize this knowing he passed away in 1990. However, Sean's post with the original score is quite exciting to read! Thanks for the reply.

    Re: Aaron Copland.

Copland's music is published by Boosey and Hawkes - they made an interesting arrangement with him, as he was not really close to his family, B&H arranged that Copland get a bigger percentige of the profits of his music while he was living and after his death B&H would get the bigger amount.
    works for me !!

There is a second hand copy of the Boosey & Hawkes edition shipping from The Bookshop, Inc. (Chapel Hill, NC, U.S.A.) for $21.74 + shipping (£1.69)
