    making something dreamy....?

I have scene in this animation that the character for a moment is day dreaming. the camera slowly zooms out and his eyes are closed as he enjoys a chestnut (ala Homer having a duff saying.....mmmmmm duff). about 5seconds.
i want to add some music/sound that will accentuate (sp?) this moment. ive tried some airy pads...but it still feels weird. any suggestions?
    thanks for any help.

Lush major 7th chord, with high strings playing trills on the very top? Or do that, then transpose the whole thing up by a minor 3rd?

A repeating (or minimalistic) motif or phrase for harp and/or stirngs.

The classic (cliche) approach is to use a whole tone scale - all major seconds. For instance C, D, E, F#, G#, A#.

or I would try the reverse,
assuming there is moment before and after this point in the animation, I would go with silence..
Or at most a pad with a single suspended 4th chord.

harp, celesta, glockenspiel and tubular bells.
wind chimes, crotales, flutes, piccolo (pp).

not at the same time, of course

How about reviewing movie Shawshank Redemption? Film is lots of people thinking/day dreaming with their own voice-over commentary. You'll find new/fresh contemporary approaches.
