Replacing old string sounds without replaying everything.

I bought the Personal Orchestra for the legato playing feature, and of course, the sound. I am replacing old string parts - mainly single and double lines in pop/r&b songs. I am trying to use the old parts and simply use the sustain pedal to make it legato, but it's not working. If I replay everything it works. Replacing the sound and putting pedals in other tunes have worked, but now it won't.

    Any ideas?

Don't forget the Modwheel (CC#1) for expressive volume/timbre. For legato the notes have to overlap slightly. And sometimes a pinch of CC#20 (portamento) does wonders to legato.

Thanks, I'll try working with those. I had the notes connected, but not overlapped at all. I'll also try the portamento as well, that could really help.

I was using the modwheel though, love that.

    Thanks!
