How well would SSV render the solos in Rimsky-Korsakov: Sheherazade? Has anyone tried?
Every conventional violin solo (excluding then avanguarde or experimental music based on unusual or exclusive sound production technics) get good results using SSV, but the amount of MIDI programming can be huge.
The simple key-press-and-play approach is not enough for SSV in notation or sequencer SW.
For good keyboardist, the realtime recording (maybe at slightly slowed-down tempos) of the solo (maybe over a pre recorded base), followed by a little of MIDI editing is the most quick and rewarding way to make music with SSV.
Actually, no slight against whoever did this demo but I expect SSV is capable of a much better performance than this. This one sounds like the performer drank a few large tumblers of vodka- it's too slurry
Once my new expression pedal arrives I will be most curious to find out how well SSV renders the solo violin part from Sheherazade. I've been practicing on the keyboard and getting use to the fingering. I'm sure it will be a whole new animal with SSV.
