    Prelude 1 in C Minor Take 3

I hope you aren’t getting sick of this yet, but here is the third iteration of my Prelude 1 in C minor. This still may not be totally done. In fact, I know it isn’t – I am planning on eventually using this as one of the themes of a string quartet. Beyond that, I’m going to go back over this and make sure everything is doing exactly what I want.

    Prelude 1 in C minor.

Listening to it back to back with the second version I do think it is a bit more intense. The original version just sounds wrong to my ears now.

    Anyway, what do you think?

    Trent,

What I think is that you should not write in response to opinion polls... lol.

Now, if that sounds a bit harsh, I do apologize, but -- This is your piece, Trent. It's important to trust your own instincts and fly by your own lights, my friend.

For that reason, other than to say once again it's a lovely piece, I am not going to comment on comparisons.

    All my best,

    David

Thanks for listening (again) David. This little minute long piece seems to be going on forever – I’m going to have to stop revising it soon.

Anyway, this latest version is the definitive version – at least for now as there may be slight revisions later. The problem is, after listening to it one way for a few weeks when I hear another way I say, “hold on, those notes are wrong!” I usually get over it after a short time, but the first day or so…

Anyway, no comparison needed. I’m glad you liked it and continue to like it despite the fact I seem to change it every few weeks.

    Thanks for the comments.
