Hey - some really nice stuff in there for film/post. The superimposition of streamers, flutters and punches is a nice add. Some of their other stuff looks like they've taken a few pages out of other apps and restored some features that I knew and loved back in the pre-digital version of Performer. Overall it looks like a really nice environment. It will be interesting to see/hear how their new synth plugins work out, too.
If you buy it at a distributor over here the upgrade will cost over $300,
so you look lucky to me
BTW, I wonder why there are no system requirments posted.
I have a feeling that this thing is going to be really heavy.
Well DP has been a heavy sequencer compared to
others, like Logic. Especially when you use virtual instruments.
So I`m worried if its more efficient then DP4 or
more heavier then DP4.
To guess this, I really need to see the system requirments.
It isn't Universal yet, even though reports are it will work, it isn't optimized. This is the advantage of Logic, as well as having distributed processing, a feature that makes me think of switching from DP.
But since I already have PTle, and just got Ableton Live, then need to upgrade Korg's Legacy collection, upgrade PT with the Music production toolkit, upgrade vst-rtas adapter, and also upgrade Sibelius, upgrade Kontakt when 2.1 comes out, just upgraded to Gigastudio 3 and Stylusrmx, need to upgrade Ivory, and then now pay the $200 to upgrade to DP5, the last thing I need is to buy another program like Logic that will need upgrading.
Intel processor support has been announced by MOTU for the end of this quarter and it will be a free update to 5.0. So my guess is the higher than usual upgrade cost for version 5 is because you are paying for that work here...it is just not ready for release yet.
