    Daniel Barenboim, Reith lectures

BBC radio 4's annual Reith lectures are focusing on the subject of music, and its place in society. The guy doing the presentations is the pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim.

The first lecture is available online as mp3 and video, and it looks as though the others should be pretty interesting too.

Hmmm... at least in the first lecture he doesn't really seem to be saying anything...

Interesting stuff though, thanks for the link.

I caught a bit of a 'questions from the invited audience' on Radio 4 by accident. Did anyone hear the blindingly pretentious question (lecture would be more like it) put by composer James Macmillan? Danny floored him.. great stuff.

Yes, I did like the answer Danny gave him for that! Very true too...
