Blown Away with Tom's Scream Trumpets!

Tom has just finished a new demo focusing on the extreme range of the trumpets.

Tom calls it a demented scream trumpet demo and titled it "Psychosis In Trumpetsville" and you'll know why when you hear it. The message here is, of course: Most trumpet players are inherently crazy.

Tom thought that the unique capabilities of the JABB library (with respect to upper range trumpet) needed to be further illustrated, so he took on the task. Note the fast runs and wide-interval glisses - all accomplished using the shakes layer programming. Nothing fancy here in the mix

Tom intends to tie this to a tutorial since it contains a lot of information on the advanced use of the shakes layer.

Great demo, Gary, Tom. Besides being a grooving, interesting piece of music, the horns are brilliantly detailed, the drums are incredible and the feel is perfect for the style. Tom, would you be willing to post the midi file for that? A LOT of great info there...

As Gary mentioned, I intend to do better than that. I will do a detailed tutorial that not only gives the MIDI data but explains the "whys" and "hows." Some of the applications of controllers (especially taking advantage of the shakes layer) are less than obvious - but very powerful. The list of intended tutorial subjects is now at 24. I hope to bring them out in groups. I will probably not introduce them until the next programming update is completed. I want the tutorials to reflect the library in its post-update form so that they will have a reasonably long shelf life. Once they are posted I think most things in the library will be pretty clearly explained for beginners on up to very advanced users.
