    Are you a 'Silent Surfer'?

According to a report, the majority of web users (53%) don't participate online, preferring just to passively read information presented to them

Just 23 per cent of web users in Europe participate or post in forums. And the study also shows that most participation comes from a sizeable and vocal minority – mainly young and male.

I don't think the researchers have visited our form where we're more balance and people of all ages (and quite a few woman) participate.

If you are a "silent surfers" I urge you to participate and let your voice be heard! Instead of being a guest you can register as a new member here: http://northernsounds.com/forum/inde...referrerid=980

We're a fun, vivacious and encouraging group and I welcome you 'slient surfers' to be an active part of this community.

In accordance with the study, perhaps this poster is neither young nor male

Here, mostly yes. On digg.com, yes. On my own website, definately (I need to update but am too lazy...)

Ok. So here comes a comment.

Whether online or offline some of us tend to be more listeners (readers) than talkers. As such, especially on a forum, I am more inclined to speak only when I have something worthwhile to say. Personally, I find many posts to be a waste of space and a waste of time to read because they add nothing to the "conversation."

Having said that, I must add that some of the funniest stuff is on this forum. I really enjoy the goofey humor. You people are smart, sharp, and often just plain silly. I love it.

So if you don't mind too much, I'll be the quiet 54 year old sitting at the side enjoying the party willing and happy to speak when I feel my comments will educate, challenge, inquire or potentially produce a smile.

Just a silent surfer ... dude.

Hey, nothing wrong with being a silent surfer... dude!

Actually in person I tend not to say much.
