Topic: More march music!

    More march music!

Mitch's march music movitated me to make my own march musings message...

Here is a little ditty I wrote to commemorate a new amphitheater stage built at the Dallas Arboretum a few years ago.

    Lakeshore Picnic

This was one of the first pieces I realized with GPO last summer so it has some rough spots. The cymbals are a little in-your-face but I still just love that cymbal sound!

    John Philip Sousa Lovrien,

I enjoyed your march very much. Very nice writing job. Good martial counterpoint.

    Thanks for sharing this.

A musically masterful and manfully managed march, if I may mention.

    Well done!

And I happen to really like cymbals.

Wow, nice music. Looks like I've got a bit more work to do to match this.

What I'd like to know is what you used to put this together along with GPO. Fiinale? Sonar?
Writing music for the joy of it. (with Windows 7 64bit, Intel i7 processor, 12GB memory, LOTS of disk space, Finale 2014, Garritan GPO, JABB3, COMB, Steinway, World Instruments, & Soundiron Olympus Micro Choir. And if I ever figure out how to use Sonar X2...the sky's the limit)

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I admire all of your work as well, which makes the kudos extra sweet.

Mitch, this was done in Finale. I sometimes tweak the EQ and reverb a little with Adobe Audition, but that's it.

They are in real bands too. Those percussionists just love their role.

Great work! Very catchy march music indeed! I wish I had a live recording. Bravo!

This sounds so real to me. What a fun march. Time to go out and buy some fireworks for the 4th of July parade! Now, I.m off to work - March!

What a festive march! The rendering is excellent and the cymbols are fine.
